LOCOSYS Technology Inc., a leader in GPS solutions, introduces
the S4-0606, the world's smallest GPS module with State-of-the-Art performance
and Industrial-Temperature, based on the leading-edge newly introduced and
market proven CSR-SiRF Star-IV chip.
The S4-0606 has dimensions of
6.00mm x 6.00mm x 1.35mm, and is the world's smallest autonomous GPS. Its
ultra-fast time-to-first-fix, small form factor, and high receive sensitivity
make it an ideal GPS solution for a broad spectrum of OEM products.
Its
high sensitivity navigation engine tracks as low as -163dBm with 48 track
verification channels. This module supports most common interfaces including
SPI, I2C and UART, operating from single 1.8V supply. The S4-0606 module comes
with an integrated TCXO as well as a SAW filter & LNA, and is fully certified
for regulatory compliance. The active jammer remover eliminates the in-band
jammers up to 80 dB-Hz. This module provides precision GPS location
identification with a very small footprint, and over -40C to +85C.
Firmtech 802.15.4 / ZigBee Modules based on Radiopulse MG2455 (Mango)
Firmtech, an industrial wireless solution provider, has released a new wireless network product-line with ZigBee solution, RP-M100 and RP-M110. Firmtech’s RP-M110 is based on IEEE802.15.4, compact and SMD-type Zigbee wireless communication module that chip antenna and RP-M110 combine as helical shape. Firmtech’s RP-M100/M110 lines enable users to add ZigBee network functionality to users' devices with different type of device interface. It aims to allow OEM manufacturers to easy and costs effectively integrate ZigBee’ function into target products in a timely manner. RP-M100 comes in two versions depending on the firmware loaded in the internal flash memory to operate the product; RP-M100 (Stack) has a Zigbee stack-based firmware, and RP-M100 (MAC) has a MAC Layer-based firmware. RP-M1XX is based on the innovative Radiopulse MG2455 hardware platform. The powerful MG2455 features 98kb of flash memory and 8Kb of RAM. The RP-M1XX transceiver offers -98dBm of Rx sensitivity and up to +8dBm of Tx power. This combination, called the "link budget" is related to its range of operation. The module is designed to meet specific requirements of low-cost, energy saving, and especially small in size (14.9 x 17.9 x 2.6 mm ( W x L x H )) wireless applications such as mobile devices or smart energy by adopting ZigBee technology. It is advantageous for SMT production and better as a Zigbee embedded module inside various products for its smaller size. The 1k up price is EUR 8,84 + VAT and freight charges.
The 171 module is a small form factor, ultra low power 802.11 b/g module. Measuring less than one square inch (27 x 18 x 3.1 mm), this module provides the flexibility of adjusting the transmit power and thereby the range. The RN-171 joins the Roving Networks family of Wi-Fi embedded modules. The RN-171 is available in two variants, the RN-171 and the RN-171-UFL. The RN-171 contains a RF pad for integrating your own antenna. This gives customers the flexibility to design their own antenna system for the RN-171. The RN-171-UFL contains a U.FL connector for external antenna.
The RN-171 is a standalone complete TCP/IP wireless networking module. It is perfect for mobile wireless applications such as asset monitoring, sensors and portable battery powered devices. Thanks to the built in power management features, applications such as remote sensors can typically operate for more than a year on a pair of AA batteries. With a list price (sample unit) of EUR 19,79 (USD 29,00) the RN-171 opens new markets for embedded Wi-Fi devices.
